Every day thousands of searches have been made on Google using the query “How to increase site Traffic”. But most of these people overlook the elementary source for traffic, which could be used right away.
There are many online marketing, traffic generation strategies which require lot of learning, understanding and take lot of time to show results. These critical strategies are also important for overall results but let’s focus on those traffic strategies which don’t need you to brainstorm and can be implemented right away.
And the added, big benefit is that they are completely free to use.
But remember one point, one time is not enough. To get valuable results one need to put repeated efforts in the process as many times as possible. But don’t forget in putting all your efforts in right direction with valuable content, that what search engine and even users value the most.
1. Slideshare: Upload – Share Powerful Presentations

The first traffic source we will discuss is Slideshare, popularly known as YouTube of slides.
At Slideshare users can share online their different slide presentations in ppt, pdf format with others. The site has millions of users. By putting valuable content you are targeting huge source of traffic.
So concentrate on the quality of the slide you are uploading. Inspite of the format it the content which is important. So as good as your content more will be the chances of getting more traffic.
After the valuable information important thing is how that information is formatted.
People like properly formatted content instead of shabbily done content. Don’t be monotonous with text, use pictures, images to make your slides more attractive and interesting. Images will help to catch the eye of the visitors. Once done with valuable content plus cool pics in it – then you can expect to get whole new bunch of visitors. Popular slides get shared by the users with their friends etc.
Once done be patient, as traffic from Slideshare doesn’t come overnight. If your slide content is really good, then traffic will surely come to your site. You can go one step further and promote your slides at Twitter and Facebook to gain more exposure, which will spur the traffic process.
2. Flickr – Manage And Share Your Photos Online

This is the place where you can get to see millions and millions of photos and it lets you share it others also.
It is the comment section below each photo which gives you opportunity to utilize Flickr for targeting traffic. Once you have uploaded your photos, shared them people like to know others feedback, comments about it. So go grab that opportunity.
Use your SEO tactics here to drive direct traffic to your site. The logic here is to view the images and comment on those which are somehow related to your niche. Leave a linkback to your website in the comment.
But remember one big rule. DO Not SPAM. It has to add value to the image and other users. It should be related to the image. This is a really great source to get some targeted traffic.
3. Google Images
This is one traffic source which is most likely to be overlooked or ignored by many.
Google images are used mainly to find what the searcher is looking for. It’s a universal truth now that Google gives you much more traffic than the other search engines. Most of the bloggers add images to their blog post or to any other great content. But forget to add a valuable and meaningful alt text tag to it.
Alt Text Tag is the tag with which one can name their images. So don’t give it anonymous or irrelevant names to it like “ABC.jpg” or “12345.Aa.png”. Google read and index all. So give your image a sensible name relating to the content it is being used in. So when it will be correctly indexed by Google with correct keywords in alt text tag it will be correctly placed in the search results for others to find it.

Hi Prasad, the ALT tag is really important, it surely helps. am glad it made a difference on your blog.
I must say that slideshare is one site I’m going to focus on in the coming year. I read a post some where a few days ago and I really admire the figures! Lol! It’s unfortunate that I have really not concentrated on the site before now despite the fact that I have an account and have uploaded a few slides there.
On Google images I can say that it has brought in quite a number of traffic to my blog through the images on my blog. My plan is to use more targeted keywords in my images.
Thanks for sharing.
