5 Superb Tips For Getting Traffic From Twitter

twitter traffic 5 Superb Tips For Getting Traffic From TwitterAs you may have known, Twitter is a social networking/micro-blogging platform where people share short messages (160 characters) known as tweets. These tweets are sent to the followers of the tweet sender, this tweet can be re-shared (retweeted) and replied to.

If you don’t know, that short 160 character message can be a source of good traffic to your blog; you can get a decent amount of traffic from twitter if you know how to leverage its services. Twitter is currently the Third largest social networking site and lots of people are joining the Twitter bandwagon daily to connect and socialize with their friends and favorite people and also to get their latest Tweets (updates) by following them.

In this post, I will be sharing with you some tips that can help you get Traffic from Twitter.

#1       Pick the Right (Niche-targeted) Username

Your twitter username (also known as twitter handle) is really important, you should choose a username that is short and descriptive enough; it is advisable that you choose a username that is niche targeted, a username that has one of your niche keyword in it.

for example, if you own a blog on making money online, you should aim to use a username like “moneyblog”, “moneyguy”, “onlinemoneyguide” or if you are in the weight loss niche, you may use usernames like: “Weightlossman”, “loseweight”, “fatlossblog”  and so on. just make sure the username talks a bit about your business.

#2       Put Your Site/Blog Link in Your Profile

Twitter in its making also wants you to advertise your blog/website that’s why they are allowing you to add a link to your blog in your profile, when you put your link in your profile, it reminds/encourages your friends and followers to visit your blog and this is a cool way of getting more Traffic.

Apart from the traffic benefit you get from putting your blog link in your profile, you will also get a high PR (PR9) back link to your blog and I bet this will help you site rankings.

#3       Follow and Interact With People In Your Niche

If you need Twitter Traffic, you must follow and interact with people/users with similar interests. Following and interacting with people in your niche will help you exposure, it will help you to get latest updates in your niche and also help you to get your messages/tweets in front of the right type of people, the kind of people that are interested in what you offer and write about.

When you follow people with similar interest, most of the time they follow back and you help share each other’s content with your respective followers. People following those you follow will likely follow you too because they will see you as someone with similar interest.

#4       Use The Hash (#) Tag

Using the Hash Tag is really important; the hash tag makes it easier for your tweets to come up in search streams. Most of the time, twitter users will search for keywords in their niche to get latest updates from fellow twitter users and if you use the hash tag with the searched keyword, there is high probably that your tweet will come up on the search result page.

You can get more traffic by using these hash tag when your tweets with links to your blog comes out in search result pages, and who knows may be a 100 or 200 people will search for that keyword on that day; that indirectly means 100-200 more visitors for you.

Using the hash tag is simple, you just need to put the hash tag right before you type that keyword you will love to show up for. E.g. #wordpress, #blog, #blogger, #seo

#5       Tweet Regularly

Tweeting your blog posts/articles and other user’s tweets regularly are very important. If you want more traffic and followers, you need to keep your Twitter account alive and active. to do this, you need to tweet regularly and not just posting your site links all the time, you could also drop a line of quotes, tweet your daily activities and also retweet other people tweets so that you won’t look spammy and also you should not bug your followers with unnecessary tweets.

If you are a blogger on WordPress, I use a Plugin called “retweet old Posts” and I will recommend this plugin to you. this plugin will automatically tweet your blog posts randomly at your specified intervals, make sure you don’t set this plugin to tweet more than 3 posts a day, so that you won’t be putting so much links out there.

These are some applicable Twitter Traffic tips that can help you get more traffic from twitter, I hope you enjoy reading through and make sure you apply them.
