There are no absolutes in the ways search engines work because the algorithm is constantly updated and improved. Duplicate content used to be a big issue, it is less of a problem now. Google is now able to assign a when published date to different pieces of content and gives more credit to the originals.
If your content is spread over multiple similar sites, you might be better off funnelling all your information into one site. Many people over-segment their market when they really don’t need to. Keeping everything in one location might be much easier to manage.

For blogging it is very essential to do your own research and write your own contents. Read a lot and do a lot of brain storming before writing killer contents. People will visit your blog to read new contents.
