There is no doubt that traffic is the backbone of a blog, without traffic, a blog is as good as dead. in my over two years of learning search engine optimization and building web traffic, I have found it a bit difficult to nail which techniques and methods works best when it comes to traffic generation.
From my experience, i have discovered seven (7) cannot fail Secrets to generate laser Targeted traffic to your blog. These methods are not new or magical; rather they are methods and techniques that work all the time.
# 1 Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization is not a rocket science, it is something you can learn and implement on your blog. If you want to get more traffic, you should obey the basic strategy of search engine optimization, these basic strategy are: Keywords, content and URL structure.
If you are on WordPress, there are lots of SEO plugins (like All In One SEO) that can help you with optimizing your blog content and blog for search engines. With these plugins, you can set Meta keyword tags and Different Post and Page Titles for Search engine purpose.
# 2 Submitting your Sitemap to Search Engines
Another technique that has really helped me a lot is “submitting my sitemap to Search engines”. submitting your sitemap to Google and other SEs, makes it easier for search engine to get notified of changes on your blog and also to index your blog posts as fast as possible; my posts on this blogs get indexed as fast as 1 min. after hitting the publish button.
If you are on WordPress, you should install the Google xml sitemap plugin and Google news sitemap plugin; these are the two plugins I use for my Sitemap. you should also submit your sitemap to Google via the Google webmaster tools.
# 3 Article Marketing
Article marketing has been a long-standing traditional traffic generation method that works like magic. Article marketing simple involves writing and submitting your articles to top articles directories like Ezinearticles.com.
With article marketing, you will be able to get backlinks to your blog from article directories and also from sites that copy and use the articles you published on these directories; this will make Google to see you as an Authority site.
The more backlinks that point to your blog, the better it is for your blog.
# 4 Blog Commenting
Blog commenting is not just an effective way of building traffic, but it is also a way of building quality backlinks to your blog; blog commenting has a two way benefit for your blog.
All you need to do is to find blogs o=in your niche or articles in your niche and drop comments in the comment section with a link pointing to your blog or blog posts.

One thing that i want to point out here- If you are commenting on blog – write down regular comments on blogs otherwise writer as well as administrator will not notice you. hence the whole process will became useless.
