Blogging has been the rave of the moment on the internet with millions of blogs being created every day, and I know you must have heard about blogging.
So, do you have interest in blogging? Have you also heard about the numerous testimonies of bloggers that are making lots of money from their blogs and some even quit their day job/jobs for blogging; I have heard this tales too and it is pretty true that blogging can be lucrative as well as fun. Blogging is like a form of business and should be taken seriously and done with passion.
most people especially newbie’s usually think blogging is just about publishing one or two article per week, scatter some AdSense ads on their blog and wait for the money to start rolling in, but the bitter truth is that a penny may not roll in to their in 5 years.
A successful blog is more than just hitting the publishing button, building a successful blog takes time, patience, hard work and sometimes luck for breakthrough; but many bloggers are carried away by the tales of “A-List Bloggers” who are making Tons of cash and they often forget these Bloggers Started Several years Ago before they could reach their Present Status.
If you are thinking of starting a blog there are a few things you should know and I will be sharing four of this with you in this Article.
Here are four things you should know about blogging before you Set-up your blog:
. Blogging Will Not Make You RICH OVERNIGHT!
If you are just starting out you need to know that blogging will never make you rich overnight, blogging has never been a “GET RICH QUICK SCHEME” and I don’t think it will never be one. If you want to make money from blogging you need to have patience and be hard-working, you can’t set up a blog today and expect to start earning by next week.
I usually tell people who are looking for fast cash to look at other online business or else they will just end up wasting their time if they try to start a blog, I have a strong believe that if you want to make money from your blog you will have to WORK and DEVELOP your Blog for a year and I think this principle holds true for most bloggers out there; what am trying to say is that if you want to start a blog you should simply forget about money making in your First Year rather you should focus on building your brand and producing Good Content for your readers.
2. Blogging is a Job.
Is blogging a Job? YES IT IS. If you can’t see blogging as a job it will be very difficult for you to succeed in your blogging career, one of the short cuts to a successful blog is to treat it as a business. This means that out of 24 Hours present in Day and 7 Days present in a week you must devote at least 3 hours per day or 20 Hours per week to your blog. do you think that Time allocation is too much, trust me when you get into the real realm of blogging you will discover that 3 Hours per day or 20 Hours per week is small for your blogging business.
Naturally, as a blogger you should write one post per day or at least a post every 2 days, you need to keep your readers glued to your blog and the only way to do this is by writing on a regular schedule; though there are some times when you just don’t feel like writing anything (it does happen to me) it’s a normal thing but try not to make it a habit, try as much as possible to keep your blog updated and alive.
3. A BLOG Must Be Advertised.
Blog marketing is very important because a blog is nothing without readers; the joy of a blogger is to get visitors trooping into is blog Day-In Day-Out. You should recall I earlier said you should allocate about 20 Hours to your blogging job, but unfortunately, this 20 Hours does not include the time you will spend on marketing your blog, you will have to allocate some hours also for your blog marketing.
Blog marketing entails submission of your blogs to Web Directories, article marketing, posting of press release, contributing on forums in your niche, guest posting and commenting on other blogs in your niche- all of these mention are required for effective blog marketing. The only way to get more readers and traffic is through blog advertising so you should take it much more serious. If you are one of those people who have some extra cash to spare, you may advertise your blog through Google Adwords and other Internet Ads Websites.
After all, there is no point in having a business if your potential customers are not aware of its existence.
4. In Blogging, “Content Is The KING”.
I don’t know if you have of the phrase “CONTENT IS THE KING” before? I guess you probably have seen it somewhere someplace before. If you want to start a blog you should know that your content is the most important aspect of your blog, in fact people prefer a horrible looking blog with information to a beautiful blog with no information. Most people out there are reading your blog just because they want to learn something new, they are looking forward to gaining something from your blog, and People gravitate towards blogs for one of several reasons: the blog provides valuable information, it teaches, or it entertains but when that piece is missing you are automatically sending them away from your blog.
Create good content, the kind of informative, educational and entertaining content people want to read and see your readership grow by the Day.
In conclusion, do you think you have what it takes to run a Blog? blogging is not that easy to do, it will affect your social life, prevent you from watching Movies like you used to do and even cost you some sleepless nights for sure. However, the joy and satisfaction you will derive from owning a blog can never be measured and also, when that Cool Cash starts flowing in you become a Happier Man.
Good luck with your Blog Creation………
